What to Expect

Counselors and Coordinators

COME ON DOWN!

When you arrive on Sunday afternoon, the staff will assist you in moving into the basement of our Eaglecrest Lodge. Be sure to check your email for the packing list before you arrive!

After everyone has arrived, we will play some name games to get everyone acquainted. Let training begin!

LET'S GET STARTED!

For Coordinators, there are three weeks of training total, with the first week being focused on leadership training and ropes certification.

For Counselors, there are two weeks of training total. We will equip you with the tools necessary to do your job to the best of your ability! Some topics we will cover during training include Bible study, leading initiatives, how to lead campers, games to play, and much more!

THE BEST SUMMER EVER!

Once camp begins, you will be placed at one of our many camps that take place during the week. On a typical week, Day Camp, Wilder, Lodge, and Saddle Up are happening all at the same time.

Coordinators draw up their schedules before camp begins, so that each schedule will vary from year to year. However, here is a basic schedule to give you an idea of what a week may look like.

TAKE A LOAD OFF YOUR FEET!

You have weekends to relax from a busy week of camp.

One weekend out of the summer, you will be required to stay and serve our guest groups (Weekend Warrior).

Other than that, use your weekend to relax, rest, and prepare for another week at camp!

BREAK TIME!

Midway through the summer, there will be a break. Before that break, we will gather together with other staff members and reflect upon the summer.

We encourage going off property for this break if at all possible. A change of place can help you rest! But you are still allowed to stay at camp over this break.

THE END!

By the end of the summer, we will clean up camp, including the lodge, and the outcamps (Saddle Up and Wilder).

We will also clean out Eaglecrest and return it to its pre-summer state. When Eaglecrest is clean, we will say our goodbyes!

All time off must be approved by the program director.

  • What can I do on my weekends?

The weekends, except for one weekend during the summer, are yours! You can go home, go to a movie, or chill out at camp. We STRONGLY encourage that weekends are used for rest and relaxation.
