Summer Camp FAQs

GOT A QUESTION? WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!

REGISTRATION FAQs

  • How do I Register?

To register for Summer Camp, either fill out a paper registration or simply apply online by clicking HERE to create your free account.

A minimum payment of $75 is required for each camper to register and hold their spot. This payment is non-refundable.

Please indicate only ONE bunkmate on your camper's registration.

We recommend online registration because it is much easier, however, if you'd prefer to fill out a paper registration, you may email ihills@inspirationhills.org. A $10 processing fee applies to all paper registrations.

  • Are there Scholarships Available?

We never want money to be the reason a camper chooses not to come to camp. For this reason, we highly encourage families to apply for scholarships if needed. Some churches do have scholarships available themselves, so we recommend asking your church for a scholarship before applying for one with us.

  • What forms of Payment are accepted?

Inspiration Hills accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, Checks, and Cash.

There will be a $10 processing fee per camper when registering with paper registrations.

All accounts must be paid in full by May 15.

  • How do I know if I registered correctly?

After registering online, you will receive an email confirming your registration information.

Parents are responsible for making sure they have registered their camper(s) for the correct date and camp.

Parents are able to log into their account at anytime to check which date their camper is registred for.

  • What if I have to cancel my registration?

The $75 minimum, non refundable registration fee will hold your camper's spot until May 15, then payment is due in full.

After May 15, each registered camper that cancels will be subjected to a $125 administration fee and only partial refunds will be given.

If your child is sick within 2 weeks of or during camp, partial refunds will be given minus the $125 administration fee. If Inspiration Hills is required to cancel any camp, full refunds will be given.

General Summer Camp FAQs

  • What does my camper need to pack?

What your camper needs to bring depends on which camp option they are attending. Each camp option webpage includes a recommended packing list for your camper!

  • Is there a dress code?

We do have a few requirements regarding dress for campers.

Modest clothes without offensive wording and modest swimsuits (one piece for girls and swimming trunks for boys) are required.

  • How much Canteen money should I give my camper?

Snacks and Souvenirs can be purchased every day during camp at the Canteen!

    We suggest $10 - $25 for week long camps and $8 - $15 for 3 day camps.

Any money leftover in a camper's Canteen account will go toward our camp scholarship fund.

  • How do I send mail to my camper?

Sending letters, postcards, and emails for your camper to receive throughout the week is highly encouraged! You may mail letters to us or drop them off at the registration table when you drop off your camper.

When writing a letter, place the name of your camper, camp option, and day of week you would like the camper to receive it on the envelope.

If you would like to share an email with your camper, email ihills@inspirationhills.org with your message, the camper's name and the camp option they are attending.

  • Can my camper keep their cell phone on them?

Campers are not permitted to possess a cell phone or any other electronic devices for any reason during Summer Camp.

Any camper found to have a cell phone or electronic device will have them revoked and stored in the camp office until the last day of camp.

In cases of emergency, please contact the office at 712-986-5193. If you do not receive an answer from the office, call our Program Director at 712-578-1422.

  • Can I call my camper during the week?

We discourage phone calls during the camper's time at Inspiration Hills as it may encourage homesickness.

If it is necessary for a camper to call their parent, we will contact you. For emergencies, please contact the office at 712-986-5193.

  • What if my camper gets homesick?

Homesickness is a normal way to feel in a potentially unfamiliar environment like Summer Camp. Our staff are trained in dealing with homesickness. Parents can help by:

    • Talking positively about the camp experience
    • Do not express your own anxiety about your child being away from home
    • Read books about camp
    • Send along a favorite stuffed animal, family picture or other familiar item
    • Send letters to arrive on the first or second day of camp
  • What if my camper has medications?

All medications (prescription and non-prescription drugs) will be turned in to the camp nurse on drop off day.

All medications must be clearly labeled and in their original container with the camper’s name, medication name, dosage, frequency, and times to be taken.

Medications will be distributed under supervision of the camp nurse as instructed by the parent or physician.
