ABOUT

WHO WE ARE

Mission Statement

"Our mission is to provide an environment in which the individual will come to know and grow in Christ and be challenged for life in God's Kingdom."

The History of the Hills

Here at Inspiration Hills, we are so much more than an outdoor experience. We pray God may use us as a means for people to know and grow in Christ and be challenged to live in God’s Kingdom through all the offerings at camp. We pray our staff may be ambassadors of Christ as we serve you through taking a retreat, vacation, camping, enjoying outdoor activities, and so much more.

Inspiration Hills has been around for over 45 years, and it started with the vision and mission of offering a camp experience to the youth. This vision derived from RCA (Reformed Church of America) church leaders in the tri-state area in 1973. Since then, things have grown! We have eight weeks of summer camp in addition to year-around program events, retreat spaces/ buildings/ campgrounds, and hosting groups of all different sizes.

To this day, Inspiration Hills focuses its ministry to glorify God in the work of providing a space for people to know and grow in Christ. Doing this requires Biblical truth, stewardship of funds and donations, prayerful support, and a whole lot of fun! We find so much joy in the work God has called us to and we feel privileged to see you on camp property.

Statement of Faith

Inspiration Hills Camp and Retreat Center bases its Ministry on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people. Our aim is for people to come to know and grow in Christ and be challenged for life in God’s kingdom. The following statement guides Inspiration Hills’ staff, board, and volunteers as we work unto God to proclaim the Gospel:

The authority of our beliefs is in the Holy Word of God. We believe it to be true, inspired, infallible, and the authoritative Word of God (2 Tim. 3:15-17, 1 Thess. 2:13). The Word of God is our final authority in all matters.

We believe there is one God, who is the creator of all things. He is infinite and perfect in being. He exists in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are equal in power and glory (Matt 18:19, John 10:30, Eph 4:4-6).

We believe, since the beginning of creation, that all mankind is created in God’s image, male and female (Gen 1:27), and we are to respect and value each image bearer. Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, we have become sinful since birth. We are lost and condemned to hell, because of the condition of our sins. But by God’s mercy, grace and love, He provided salvation for our sins through Jesus Christ, His Son, who died on the cross for us. Jesus’ sacrificial death, resurrection from the dead, and ascension has saved us from our sin and has deemed us righteous in God’s eyes. In Christ’s actions, on our behalf, we have the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith is made possible through the power and work of the Holy Spirit, drawing us into a personal commitment to live for and follow Jesus Christ. The amazing saving work of Christ is for all who confess their sins and believe in His name. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ alone for the glory of God alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 3:9, Galatians 2:20-21).

We believe, since creation, God created marriage through one man and one woman, and this marriage union is to be in an exclusive relationship. God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed within the commitment of marriage. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.) This is God’s design, not human will.

We believe no Christian should be excluded from the body of believers because of their sin. God instructs us to love one another. In that, we need community. We believe the body of believers are to instruct, encourage, and uplift each other in accordance to God’s word. Becoming a Christian, is not only beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ, but being involved in, and a part of the body of Christ.
