Norlyn Van Beek

Executive Director

Norlyn began at Inspiration Hills April 1 of 2015 after                    serving Ireton Christian Reformed Church for the                        past nine and half years. He and his wife Cherie                      love the new adventure God has called them to.                Norlyn graduated from Dordt College in 2001 and              Sioux Falls Seminary in 2004.

They have nine children (including 4 in-laws), tengrandchildren .Cherie works full-time at HyVee on East tenth Street in Sioux Falls after spending the last sixteen years at HyVee in Sioux Center. They are living in Sioux Falls. Cherie loves to read and spend time with the grandkids. Norlyn loves to fish and together they love to camp and enjoy being outdoors.

Terry Dozark

Building & Grounds Manager

Terry grew up in Canton, SD and he came to Inspiration Hills after 21 years of cutting meat at Sunshine Markets and owning his own business for 7 years. Terry met his wife Laura in high school. They have lived on the grounds of Inspiration Hills for more than 15 years. They have 4 children and nine grandchildren. Everyone that knows Terry knows he loves NASCAR, any type of racing and enjoying his 'hotrod'.

Laura Dozark

House Keeping Coordinator

Laura grew up a Pastor's kid as her father was the minister in Canton for several years and that was where she met Terry. Laura ran a Day Care in her home while her own children were young, worked at a local Lumber Yard, and Hiawatha Heights Assisted Living Unit in Canton, SD. Laura loves to read and do various crafts in her leisure times but relishes the time spent with her grandchildren.

Eydie Owens

Kitchen Manager

Eydie is no stranger to Inspiration Hills as she and husband Don attended Cursillo here and all 6 of their children attended summer camps through the years. Two of their daughters, Niki and Whitney, were also summer camp counselors.

Eydie has many years of experience in food management in the Sioux Center area where she and her family lives. She really enjoys cooking ethnic foods and making dishes from 'scratch'.

Kristi Palsma

Program Director

Kristi joined the IHills Staff in September of 2013. Kristi went to school at Dordt College and grew up on a Dairy Farm near Orange City, IA. Kristi comes from a big family and enjoys the time she gets to be with them. Some of Kristi hobbies include running with her dog Cooper, being outside, traveling, and eating butternut squash.

Dylan Hoekstra

Dylan joined the IHills Staff in May of 2016. Dylan was born and raised in Sioux Center, IA where he graduated from  Dordt College in 2016. Dylan's hobbies consist of running, basketball, soccer, canoeing, and any other type of outdoor activity. He is our marketing and canoeing pro at Inspiration Hills.



Kaia grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and has had a love of horses her entire life.  She married her high school sweetheart, Todd, and they have a daughter and a son, as well as a son-in-law and three grandsons.  Kaia has her undergraduate degree from SDSU and a PhD in physiology from USD.

After twenty years in medical research, Kaia felt led to leave her career in science to use horses to share the love of Christ and mentor to youth and families.  Most recently, she spent five years with HorsePower – a therapeutic riding center in Sioux Falls helping people with disabilities.  Since 2015, Kaia has been working with                                                              Inspiration Hills to establish a year-round horse ministry.



James joined us in March of 2017. He grew up on a small ranch where he worked construction, in the oil fields, and welding all before he joined the ministry. He served in a small church in Marion South Dakota for 16 years. In late 2015 he resigned from the church and moved to Canton SD. He has been married to his wife Becky, for over 30 years! He has two children and 5 grandchildren!



Dave joined us in September of 2017! For the past four years he has served in God’s kingdom as the Executive Director of STEMM (Siouxland Tanzania Educational Medical Ministry) headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa. The prior 25 years he served in the pastoral ministry in Jenison, MI, Inwood, IA, and Orange City, IA. His family includes his wife Lori, daughter Tina who went to be with the Lord in 2012, son Ross who is married to Liz and lives near Humboldt, SD, and daughter Sara who lives in Sioux Falls.
